It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve had an event. All right, it’s only been about 5 months but still, that’s roughly 153+ days! In Central Florida, we’re seeing some openings of attractions and some events happening like NBA and MLS but these aren’t conferences. Yes, they are good for our local economy but we’re used to large conferences drawing thousands of attendees to Orlando on a regular basis. All this to say, we’re seeing events reemerge! Not just in Central Florida but all over.
We saw one of the first events in months not too long ago in China. It was an auto show and we got a glimpse of what future events and attendees will look like. We’re seeing events move forward in the fall with a different feel by adding the virtual element. While our love for events is all about the in-person experience, this is a trend that is not going away any time soon. Virtual events or a virtual component to the in-person conference experience are here to stay so it’s time to embrace it!
Connect Corporate recently put out an article about relaunching meetings in America. They talked about some pretty cool out of the box ideas that Meet Virtually recently did like a virtual escape room for team building and celeb cooking classes.
While conferences can take place virtually, the in-person experience is more about relationship building. Meet Virtually has found a way to tap into this component through some creative team building events. It doesn’t totally replace the networking experience but it definitely helps keep events alive during this challenging time.
